THE FAITH CHRONICLES

There are three novels which encompass the Faith Chronicles. Adversity – Face to Face, an historical fiction book based on a true story that follows the Strauss Family from Oldenburg, Germany to a small town, Frelsburg, in Colorado County, Texas in 1845. This first edition is being written by Sidney St. James, but at the current time of this writing is under James’ other pen name, Sean E. Jacobs.

The second novel is one called Faith – Seventy Times Seven which is a Creative Nonfiction novel based  on the life of Reverend Ada Caston Slaton Bonds, the first ordained woman in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was rewarded the title by the General Assembly as “Mother of All Presbyteries.” She was also the first ordained woman minister in the State of Louisiana.

And the last novel, one based on the writings of Dilue Rose Harris, written in the home of the author of in Eagle Lake, Texas at the turn of the century and follows her family as her mother and father and thousands of others looked for an escape from Texas with Santa Anna hot on their trail.  The title of the novel was derived by the name given to Dilue Rose by Sam Houston at the second annual celebration of victory of the Battle of San Jacinto. It is called The Rose of Brays Bayou. The book is also a true story and falls into the Creative Non-fiction genre.
